Friday, August 18, 2006 ; anthem of love
i was just day-dreaming, and because one thing lead to another, i found myself thinking about my teenzeal town days. i know my time there is probably poor in comparison to most people, but nevertheless, i have a past too.
although i have limited memories of my time spent there, i do treasure all the times that i can remember.
if there are a group of people i want to thank, it's the stewards, now known as ambassadors; esp charissa and also, jolene.
i remembered i was P6 in Praise kids, when the stewards came and talk to us and told us how fun teenzeal was. i still remember, jolene said that in praise kids, the games are kinda childish and too young for us and they jump in teenzeal, going to teenzeal was of your own free will, also, you dont need to be registered every time u come, like in PK and there are sermons like how to hear the voice of God etc.
the main reason why i went to teenzeal, was because i was from the first service PK. thus, the timings are the same. then there was No Greater Love Camp, in Malaysia. the stewards noted that it's in malaysia, not like PK camps, which are not held out of the country. and also, you get to choose your own roommates. in short, they made teenzeal seem cool and happening. and they were right. it was cool and happening. NGL camp had fun games and it was just a different kind of experience.
something unforgettable, are the times before service. when the charissa and jolene would sit with us, in a circle and just ask us questions. my group and denise's group would sit in a big circle, and the boys would be with the guy stewards. yes; we were the sec ones. i remembered charissa would ask us questions like how's school and so on, while we'd just give monosyllabic answers. like school's fine/stressed etc. but they never gave up and still continued to be friendly. i remembered the time when jolene and charissa brought their eye shadows to doll us up. haha. i know i barely spoke a word during those times, but these have made a great impression on my heart.
i remembered the floorboards vibrating, together with our jumping. and i still remembered the first time i came teenzeal, during praise and worship, everyone was jumping and we were like.. 'omg. whaddaheck' but after NGL, we all started to jump too! anyways, then last time pastor lawrence was youth director. then laoda was saying. okay. let's welcome the new p6s, and everyone was cheering for us. so sweet..
let me end, by saying that teenzeal is a great place. i really matured there, so much. and the extremely shy and quiet me, has opened up. still shy and quiet, but definitely not as much as before. Daddy God sees me from what both the world and myself portray myself as. ppl around me and i, saw myself shy and quiet, but He looked deeper than that. Everytime when preachers said things like, 'God sees you on the inside, but people see you on the ouside.' I'd be like.. yeah. whatever. but truly truly, He's grace is more than enough from me.
sidetrack a bit, you know the Rock Bookshop sells those small cards for 30 cents? one particular card says, His grace is enough for me. and there's a picture of a cup with enough water. quote from gina:'i wonder why people want to buy that. Isn't His grace MORE than enough?'
okay. that's about it. i have time constraints. and tmr i dont think i can get any work done, cuz there's leadership in the morning and so forth. if there's one thing i caught during study seminar is this, from coach lily. 'cast your cares upon Jesus, but not your responsibilities'. it just changed my whole perspective of what it means to cast your cares upon Him.
let my life be a reflection of Your goodness in my life
