watching a funeral procession today brought back memories and heartaches, well more of heartaches. i remembered how i couldnt communicate with any of my grandparents because of the language barrier, and how i had always wanted to learn cantonese to communicate with my grandfather. i still do want to learn now. i rmbered lotsa stuff lah.

anyways, today was so irritating lah. i got woken up at seven plus to the sounds of the electric guitar. cuz everytime national day celebrations, will have RC people playing and singing etc. they celebrated all the way until 11.30. so noisy can. cant even do my work. then about the last hour, nobody was there, and the woman was singing to no audience. so sad cans. the only ppl who heard her were those at home.

i'll be going to the national day parade soon. please lah. i dont want to go. i mean, first time go very fun. second time not bad. but i've been going for years already. i think this is the 5th or 6th time. sian. have to battle with the crowds, then gotta walk darn far and everything. and also will kena block by people during the parade.

i just happen to find this interesting ((= so now, i know i can just drink that and be full. i wanted to blog this on multiply.com initially, but i just dont like the idea of informing all my contacts when they log in, that i've blogged.

Question
I would like to know if drinking milk bubble tea is harmful to health and how much calories does each cup contains. Is the pearls in the bubble tea high in calories?

Answer
Most bubble tea, also known as pearl tea, tapioca tea, boba, milk tea and zhen zhu nai cha, contains brewed black or green tea, tapioca pearls, milk and honey or sugar. Some of them are blended with fruit juice and other flavourings as well. I do not see that any of the above ingredients being harmful as long as they were handled hygienically.

The amount of calories will depend the size of your cup and also the type of milk bubble tea you order. One source gives the calories for a basic milk bubble tea with tapioca pearls at about 360 calories per 16 oz cup. Rumour has it that 7 pearls are about 100 calories and there are about 30 pearls in a drink. That makes each serving of bubble tea fairly high in calories when you compare it to a cup of regular milk tea which is only 60 calories per cup!
