Thursday, November 16, 2006 ; anthem of love
after reading someone's blog, and remembering what wei heng said a few days ago, i just suddenly remembered something.
thank you lord. you chose me.
i wanted to be an MM last time, i thought i couldn't be, and i thought i would never ever be, because i simply wasn't borned to be leader. i mean, how could the shy and quiet and timid me, with zero self-confidence and who always felt lousy, who never ever took charge, become a leader? and so, as much as i wanted to be, i knew i would never become. and although i prayed that i would become an MM, deep in my heart, i asked how? i dont even have any leadership qualities.
BUT, that's not what God saw in me. He saw something different. He chose me, and nurtured me. He placed the gift of leadership into me, and he gave me influence. He transformed me. You have truly made me who i am today, and thank you that i am today in a position to influence youths.
and like what wei heng said, MMs are just 10% of the DARE's population and someone whom the youths respect. and like what he also said, he was asking a youth, whether he wanted to become an MM, and the youth replied, 'who dont want?' so thus, a majority of the ppl want to become MMs. maybe they dont say out, but deep in their hearts, they want to be. please do pray about it if u want to become one, and dont give up hope! i feel so privileged to be an MM. and honestly speaking, i wasn't borned with leadership qualities, unlike some other MMs. so honestly speaking, i dont understand why a few MMs dont take pride in being an MM.
oh and i just realised a few days ago, how much we've all grown. and the 'we' refers to friends from my GI days.
alene, amanda, gina, christon, yongjie, felina and i are like the regular ppl in our ex. caregroup, GI. and ethel too, although she only came for 2 sessions, cuz then they changed to dg. oh and nick too! although he didnt come for camp. and i'm amazed at how much each of us have transformed. and i know that each of us is spiritually hungry, i mean that's why we attend cg, while the rest dont right? (=
yong jie has moved on to campus, while felina dosen't attend DARE anymore.
and alene, gina and i have become Mighty Men. and i'm so amazed at what the lord has done in our lives. all of us have grown so much! and 'so much' just can't portray accurately how much! and amanda and christon, our MMs, have grown too, by leaps and bounds. and each of us have grown from glory to glory. i know that the lord has used each of us to impact others and will continue to use, and we're all called to be ppl of greatness. and i see the change in ethel and nick too; in thought and in word. we can all testify to the fact that each of us have grown. not just spiritually, but mentally and emotionally. and this is supernatural transformation.
yeah, so this is the result you get when you are hungry for Him. your life will inevitably be transformed by His grace, and you will grow and become wiser. and good things will happen to your life. you can't attend caregroup, go DARE, and go for sunday service, and NOT be transformed. you will definitely be changed, just in a matter of time.
and something i've learned too, is that you dont have to be 'loud' to be an MM, like i initially thought you had to be. because it is God who appoints MMs, not the coaches, or not pastor.
