hellos!
let me blog about my week! its the third last week of the hols.
on monday, i went shopping, shopping and shopping with my sister, aunt and cousins. then we went to kallang airport to have our dinner.
on tues, i went for breakfast with my aunt, then i went leisure park, then i went to charmaine tay's birthday party. i was late though. she had soo much food!! and her condo is really nice. and i played bridge till i was sick. haha. the rest, esp the guys werent sick at all, and they continued playing like nobody's business. then we cut the cake! haha but then heda, cheryl and i left early. happy sweet 16 charmaine!
on wed was my first day of work. its very mundane, cos i'm doing the same thing the whole day. shi hui's mum fetched me to the company. then, i went for the thanksgiving service! but it wasnt really a thanksgiving service in my opinion. it was more of a server's appreciation dinner. anyways, they had sooo much food! and it was good food. there was soft shell crab too! and i finally got to take a picture with mika!! denise, jerynn and i sat on the floor, cos there was no more space on the chairs. and i felt so sorry for the last row, who were seated on white plastic chairs placed behind the usual last row; cos ppl kept moving in and out, and had to go past an entire row to do so.
on thurs, it was work again. and on fri, vivien and i took leave. haha dowan to work already. and i went around appealing to JCs. i missed CJC by one point ok!! my brother went with me. actually we went to CJC, then we had to go back, cos we didnt have our correct documents with us. so we went again! then we went to kallang airport to meet mum. my brother treated all of us!
you know, i kinda regret working. cos there's so much things to be done. and i really want to catch up with friends. and i miss everyone. seriously, the money isnt worth all these. there's only two more weeks of holidays left, and i have to work for two more weeks.
anyways, on sat, my mum and i went all the way to bukit batok, cos i wanted to get a phone, and they were having a starhub roadshow at west mall, and there was $50 off from the phone i wanted. when we reached there 50 min later, the queue was long. very very long. it snaked all the way till the mrt. but my mum wanted to go and eat. so we went to eat. by the time we came back, the queue was significantly longer. and we queued for 2 hours. but on top of that, after reaching the counter, we still had to take a queue number and wait for half an hour more. and then after ordering the phone, we had to queue to pay and queue to redeem all the freebies. so altogether, the whole thing took 3 hours. it was horrible, cos i was suppose to meet joan at 12.30, but in the end i reached suntec at 4.30. but the worst part was, i missed the dare service!! i actually planned to take photos with everyone for my last service, and i wrote thank-you notes too, but then, i couldnt stick to it. and the worst worst part was that i missed the blessing part. thats very important to me la.
anyways, as i was walking towards DARE in suntec, joan called me and said that they were already on the bus to le meridien. i was very shocked lah. haha. then she put me to kailin, who told me that someone would pick me up in a car! i was shocked too. haha. its like huh, car? they were so sweet. then she called me again, and say that now its not a car, its a big bus all for me! haha so i waited for the bus, and it brought me to le meridien hotel. and amy, joan and coach B were waiting for me at the place were the bus dropped me off. they were so sweet ok!
and arrow service was good. i love pastor chin's preaching! haha. he's very corny! like what jake says. and the arrow leaders and youths too are very very friendly! praise jesus we have found so much favour in their sight! and pastor chin was so thoughtful! he said that if there's anything, we can just email him.
heh. anyways, i dinner-ed with claudine and alena and her friend and xiaohui. oh, and before dinner, shavonne found a $50 note on the floor! we went to arcade at PS. alena is really good at mario. and, blessed birthday jake!
i wanted to say that arrow is a very awesome place, and this is the place i have been wanting to go since sec 3! i remembered when i was sec 3, i would attend campus services with nick, shavonne and daryl, who were all sec 4 and finished their Os, and i enjoyed campus so much. and i know my days in arrow would be great, cos the path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter.
and i also want to add, that i miss dare so very very much. and i couldnt even attend the last dare service. and if not for dare, i dont think i would have been who i am today. God took this girl who had so many fears, who was battling so much condemnation, who was so self-conscious, who had low self-esteem, who was lost and scared and didnt know what to do, and turned her around, to be such a woman of favour and glory and wisdom and He showed her His great grace. and she is who she is today, solely by the grace of God.
if not for the fact that i changed daregroups so often, and were in so many departments, i dont think i would have known so many leaders and youths. and i think all this is really God-planned. cos most youths dont change daregroups as often as i did la. and most youths are not in as many depts as i am la. haha. i was from UIC to GI to Christ-R-US to Super D to Huper/huper 1 to Huper 2(same name, completely different leaders and people). and i was from Publicity/creative comms and ADC and DREAMS to Ambs. and in all these moving, i got to know many leaders like dora, coach hee jhun, coach val, coach mel, sean, coach joy, coach pat, coach jayden, coach lily, kaiyan, lydia, anjo, katie. in addition, i am very grateful for the privilege to given to me, to serve the ministry as an MM. and i feel that i learnt many things that i wouldnt normally have learnt, and met so many other yMMs, whom i'm proud to say i have a kingdom friendship with.
and the friends that i've ever made in dare (excluding grads that are moving on): abel, alene, alena, aloysius, alvin, amanda, angie, angus, belle, brandon, bryan, charissa chua, charissa liu, claudine, daniel, daryl, dean, debra, denise ng, denise yeo, denise loh, derrick, dickson elaine, ernie, ethel, faith, felina, germaine, gina, gideon, heidi, immanuel, isaac, jack, janet, jarett, jasmine, joel, jer, jeremy lim, jeremy teo, jolene, joshuas, kailin, kezia, laura, lihui, malcolm, marika, nick tan, nicola, nigel, nikki, parry, paul, qingfa, rosabelle, ryan, samuel, shaun, shavonne, sheena, sherilyn, shuming, teck hua, terence tee, tsuting, wangyun, weihui, weili, weiqian, yiting, yongde.... and the list goes on seriously. i'm very very sure i forgot to name some ppl. if you happen to be one of them, please tell me, and i'll put your name here (:
I WANT TO SHOUT THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU! if not for the fact that i had godly friendships and awesome leaders, honestly i doubt i would have stayed in dare. you guys ROCK. haha. praise jesus for all of you. i love all of you! you wonderful people have made my journey in dare a wonderful one.
and mika i was just reading your blog about the palm tree, which you blogged in the EJ3 camp post! and you mentioned that pastor said that as we grow in the ministry, our roots will grow deeper as well. and i was just reflecting on this. my roots have grown deep in dare. but its time now for me to be uprooted, and planted in the arrow soil. its a different soil that is better suited for me, for my time and season. praise jesus.
