yesterday was very coincidental. i met my ex-schmate in the lift, then when i boarded the bus, i met my cousin. at the katong bus stop, yongde boarded the bus, and so did my brother. and i saw wendy on the bus too. anyways, service was good. pastor gab preached on the wisdom of God. pastor gab is soo funny, and the effect is enhanced by the newbie shirt that he wore. after service, i finally saw claudine and talked to her abit. saw mika and claire too. my cg went to millenia walk for dinner. my food was super ex. i ordered this bowl of udon, and that udon only had an egg yolk inside, served with a small squared plate of green peas. and i paid $8. anyways, we had a great time fellowshipping, and ireen asked us many thought provoking questions. all of us had different perspectives and so all of us learnt a lot (:
i was supposed to be at tanah merah mrt station at 10.20pm, but then by the time i walked to cityhall station with kailin and jo and reached tanah merah, it was close to 11pm. i thought the rest would all have gone to alvin's hse, and i thought i would have to find my own way there, cos i didnt see them at the station. but they were so nice to wait for me. weijie said he was at the station for close to an hour! and edmund bought mr bean's tow huay for all of us.
we took a bus to alvin's house and then waited around while he knocked on the door repeatedly cos he didnt bring the house key, then he called home and then his mum opened the gate instead of the door. anyways his room has a water bed!! darn cool! edmund, maurice and i laid on the waterbed and didnt want to get up. the bed is especially nice if someone steps or jumps on it, cos the water will sorta move around, which is a very nice feeling. then, michelle and i went to go and raid the fridge. after that, jinshi came. we went to eat and change and play with the gym equipment, while alvin and edmund moved the 20kg cpu from alvin's room to the hall, so they can play dota. by then, it was already about 12.30am. linh and jianli were waiting for them online since 11.30pm. but in the end, we watched the movie 300 instead. but then the computer had some problem and the movie couldnt be played. while waiting for alvin to fix it, i was already lying on the floor with a pillow and bolster and blanket and jacket. haha. all ready to sleep. i watched like 5 sec of the movie before there was another technical error, and while waiting for it to be resolved, i closed my eyes for a while, and then, i slept already. it was about 2am then, and i really couldnt stay awake cos i hadnt much sleep the past few nights. i think mich and edmund watched the movie halfway too, but alvin had only 1 hr of sleep last night.
alvin woke me up at 5am in the morning and after eating our breakfast and stuff, we walked to the mrt station cos the buses hadnt started operating yet. we caught the 6.30am shuttle bus to the race venue at changi. the bus was full of NS men and most of them were sleeping...until we boarded the bus and started talking and disturbed their sleep. i only remembered that we talked about night cycling, cos thats what many ppl have been talking about for the past few weeks, but i guess we can only go night cycling in december. the race venue is really nice. its at the changi exhibition centre, which is by the coastline. but the sunrise couldnt be nicely captured on the camera though. but we did take a nice jumpshot (:
after quite awhile, the 15k race flagged off after the 10k. we were trying to locate jinshi, weijie and maurice in the crowd but we couldnt find them, although we knew they were somewhere in the middle. olivia came to support them too. then we went into the changi exhibition centre where there was aircon! michelle and i went to the 2nd floor and then we saw jianli and christian starting their run. but they were not the only late ones. by then, it was already 40min into the race. we ran to the nearest door but it was locked, and finally when we managed to find a door that opens so that we can go out into the balcony and cheer for jianli, he didnt hear it at all. haha waste our efforts. then we went down. i saw edmund sleeping, and i was so tired that i fell asleep too, and i slept for about 45min. apparently the rest tried to wake me up but i couldnt be woken up. and then alvin said this morning he had a hard time waking me up too. and edmund also said last night he called my name to wake me up cos i wanted to watch the movie, but i was deep in sleep. this reminds me of my june xp, when i was the first to sleep and the last to wake up in the tent.
ok this entry is getting a little draggy. after this part a lot of things happened, like the rest finishing the race except for weijie, and all of us were frantically trying to find weijie and wondered if he had already finished the race, but in the end he wasnt feeling well so he took longer time to complete the race. and the medics at the competition venue are really attentive. seriously. after crossing the line, weijie collapsed cos he really pushed, and even the competitors were concerned. some stranger even offered him a 100+ drink. and then suddenly the medics all swarmed him, and wanted to bring him to the medic tent. this is something that is new to me, i guess cos during training when we collapse after the run, we dont get this much attention, and its quite normal to see ppl collapsing after a run. and then maurice accidentally cut his finger with a knife. when he went to the medic tent, about 10 medics helped him with it. and the way they bandage that cut is really something that takes a lot of effort, cos he looked like he was being bandaged for a wrist injury instead.
anyways, i left early cos my mum really wanted to eat lunch at waraku. i took the shuttle bus and train with christian. after eating the yummy food with the complementary dessert, i went to meet my cg at the queue. omg the queue for tickets is now really long. i saw denise too! she told me O levels are starting tmr. and she told me that more than 40% of the girls in her class scored 9 pts and below for prelims. this year kc sure do very well. our juniors are darn smart lah! before service i slept, and ireen took a rather unglam photo of me with my mouth open. during service i was so so tired, and i nodded off at times. but after i went to wash my face it was better. after service i didnt hangout with the rest but i went home cos i was just too tired. i dont know why,but i'll trust You. Your wisdom shall guide me.
