Wednesday, December 17, 2008 ; anthem of love
today is like the first day of my hols that i didn't go out. i have no idea what to do at home. so far this morning i woke up at 9am, then i ate and slept till lunchtime, and i woke up and ate wonton noodles from my favourite shop which my mum dao-baoed back. then i read mind your body, and i went out to buy bubble tea. after i came home and drank it finish, i snacked abit on biscuits. i realised that i havent even eaten the chocolate bar that olivia had given me for my birthday months ago. and i realised that the small container of chocolate that my gp teacher had given me for my promos had been finished by my sister.
anyway let me update a little on whats been happening so far.
on sunday before meeting my cg, i saw denise. she joined us for awhile. after taking tickets, we went to carrefour to shop. sunday was our church's donation drive for the boys brigade. carrefour gave out $10 vouchers for every $80 spent. they also specially packed hampers for this occassion. the hamper costs $80 each but we only had to pay $70. denise, george, joel and i queued for the hampers and we bought 4, while the rest went to carrefour to buy other stuff. the sunday before we prayed that we'll raise $300, but in the end, we raised $400. so amazing right? so sad i wasnt there.
while the 4 of us waited for the rest to finish, i was talking to alena. she was assisting the northeast graduating group for EJ4 camp. she told me what happened during camp, and i was very saddened and disappointed to hear what i heard. we were in the same cg when i was sec 4 then, and these are ppl whom i spent my last days in dare with, and i hold them close to my heart. i rmbered during EJ3 camp, this bunch of ppl were the ones that were very very on for the games, and won overall for games, just like adcamp 3. they were super super tight. but over the course of 1 year, so much has happened between them. but i'm glad that all of them are still in church. after 3rd svc, i saw anjo and told her how i felt, and i know she knew everything already, long before i did. then i went to find joel and confront him, cos i really wanted to know what happened. joel told me some things that i knew, and others that i didn't know. talking to him, i realise how much i miss all of them, and i'm glad they are all moving on to arrow at the end of this year (:
after that, jo, kailin and i changed into our red t-shirts, and we went to the boy's brigade booth at the taxi stand to help out! the whole jc cluster was on the same 6-8pm shift. the guys were in charge of the more physical stuff, while the girls were mostly handling out the vouchers. jo was disappointed! haha. jo, kailin, nisa, rachel, leia (i think. i couldnt catch her name properly) and i went to the 4th floor to give out. as service wasn't over, rachel, jo and i listened to pastor preaching again. after svc, we handed out the vouchers to those ppl who wanted to donate items. then, we went downstairs to assist the rest of the ppl there, cos by then, ppl would have bought the items and would be donating. after transporting stuff from the exit door to the taxi stand for awhile, i went to help out at carrefour's cashier. trying to spot which customer is the one donating was really fun. usually the ppl queuing up with a trolley full of rice and milk power and toiletries is the one donating. the cashier will spot it too and ask them if they are the ones donating. then, we will help to put the stuff inside the trolley and wheel it back to the booth. yeu keed was in the tent slacking. haha. cos any food item that expires before next year can't be donated. so the ppl in the tent were eating biscuits. and drinking yakult which some one donated, and which of course can't be stored without the refrigerator. anyways after helping out, we went to eat and while the rest were still sharing, i went off first. i saw dora at the bus stop. it has been a long time since i last saw her. i think sunday was a long eventful day, and it has been a long time since i had this kind of sundays. best of all, i talked to jo a lot today and we shared stuff with each other. i think talking to her today was really precious. i'll miss her when she moves on.
on monday we had night cycling. we went to send linh off to vietnam before that. night cycling was fun but there was just too many ppl. some of us who came earlier waited at changi village for 4 hours for the rest. while waiting for them, i slept, stoned, listened to music, played solitaire and talked until they came. i think the best part of it was cycling on nicoll highway at 4am alone. darn cool. there was nobody at all and there were only a few cars, and i couldn't see them behind me because i was cycling in the direction of the traffic flow. but when i was cycling back to fort rd from nicoll highway, i was a little scared when i saw cars rushing toward me. i guess what you can't see won't harm you (:
after that we tried to watch the sun rise, but it was too cloudy. then we went macs to eat breakfast then home to slp. thank god i had no muscle aches at all. after i slept for 2 hours with much difficulty, i met claudine at orchard! (: yay i miss her and all the fun times i had with her and laura. we updated with each other about our lives and something else (: then i met ck and mau and we went to gelare. by then, i was sleep-deprived and my brain wasn't functioning. i think i was stoning most of the time there. we went to borders to buy a postcard and browse through some books and then we went home. this was what i did on tuesday.
tmr is thursday and there is the men and women's meeting from 9am till 6pm. so cool. i have never been to a women's meeting this long before. the most was like for 3 hours only. this is the first time that it's a day seminar. i thought it was on saturday at first, cos usually these kinda things are on sat. i think all the leaders who are working would have to take leave, and so would the ns guys.
on friday and sat there is facil trng. i hope we play games on fri instead of sat, so that there will be mass dance on saturday, and john and deborah won't miss out on it. there's arrow service this saturday too, and we're supposed to dress up as a toy. haha i have absolutely no idea what to do. i just hope i don't sleep in service cos the night before i've a sleepover. this saturday youth service would be the first time i'm able to go since holidays started. it's also the last youth service of the year. gosh this year has passed so so fast!
the thing i hold the closest to my heart has the power to hurt me the most. but yet i would not be happy if it were put at a distance. although i have been disappointed many times, i would still sacrifice many things for it; because i love it.
