praise jesus for the wonderful time i had at the last dare of the year. christmas bash was just great. thank you jesus really, for blessing my day.
in the morning had leadership training, and we got to hear awesome testimonies. really, as cliche as this sounds, i am so so honoured and privileged to be able to serve as an MM. it turned out there was a little more ppl then i actually expected. haha cuz i thought a large number of the MMs were away on holiday. alene, amanda, laura and claudine didnt come! so i sat with mika, gina and vikki. oh and i met melanie and her sister on the bus! sitting opposite this cheekopeh guy and his china mistress.
okay after that, it was kinda madness. cuz like coach joy wanted the publicity box to be cleared. so we brought everything to a corner and started to mess up everything! then we rolled the 4 in 1 posters for like 2 hours? thanks to some of the logi guys who helped us, if not we would never have rolled finish! rolled until dare started. and i felt soo bad, cuz i didnt get to help huper. not that they needed my help lah, cuz they had more than enough ppl. so after doors were opened, jake, daryl and i went to grab some food. i missed abit of praise songs. after pastor dan went onstage, he said that the lord told him to tell us, do not fear cuz Jesus is with us. and i believe that this was for me, cuz i told Daddy i wanted a word for this particular situation that i'm facing, either through pastor or coaches. and really praise jesus. so, i will not fear!
sermon was good. this sermon particularly spoke to me, because i didnt look forward to 2007. i mean, 2006 was just really full of his blessings. and 2006 is the BEST year of my life. it was really truly a year of dreams fufilled, of acceleration and of step up. yar cuz during EJ camp 1, the lord told me through a coach during ministering, that 2006 would be a year of step up for me. step up spiritually too. yar i would probably blog more on this like towards the end of dec. i would definitely miss 2006. and i didnt want to go onto 2007 because i wondered, whether it would be as good as 2006. but you know what? the path of the righteous gets brighter and brighter. and jesus is the same yesterday, today and forevermore. so if 2006 was good, how much more would he bless me in 2007!
okay yes, then after altar call, there was 9 souls saved! amazing leh. i know heaven is rejoicing!
honestly speaking, you know last time, i didnt want the youth ministry to grow to so big, cuz i thought, i thought that i would miss out. it seems so silly now, that i thought of that, but i did lah. i thought, that then, i wouldn't be able to encounter Him that strongly already, and i wouldn't be able to receive ALL that he has for me. but you know even in the silliest thoughts, my Daddy still wants me to overcome those thoughts. so during camp, he told me, through a YL, during ministering, that i may think that He has forgotten me, but He will never forget me. i have the sweetest daddy ever. but you know in camp, when i was on stage, playing that hippo hippo jump game, i looked down and you know what i saw? i saw a ballroom filled entirely with youths, from the front to the back. and i then i understood. i understood how simply amazing it would be, to see the whole indoor stadium full of youths, passionate for God, and jumping and praising Him.
okay anyway, moving right along, then there was daregroup time. and i got coach mel's present. she gave me those you know those kind its for your table lah. okay it's this dog, and then i can chuck my handphone in it and my phone would be standing vertical in it. i've been wanting to buy something for a long time, but i didnt see any nice ones, so gradually i forgot about buying one. so praise jesus for coach mel's present.
then there was the giving out of the prize to the best decorated area. huper almost won. thanks to bryan's christmas tree ((= but then Jrocks did in the end. congratulations jrocks! after that there was the break dancing by the prado brothers, then it was praise time! we went down to meet this shirt lady for the MM shirts! she wasnt as bad as i thought she would be, and she DEFINITELY was nicer in person than on the phone. haha percy went to go withdraw money cuz not everyone paid for the shirts yet. he ran like crazy, cuz the lady kinda parked illegally. then when we went up, samuel and i koped the tarts on the way. and in collecting the shirts, i missed the last blessing in dare, of the year. you know the part where pastor would bless us before we leave? or in the case of this week, it was before MORE praise songs! i missed that last blessing. yar very precious cuz in was the one of the last dare, of the year.
ok then after that the pub ppl celebrated JAKE's birthday!! and they also gave out the posters. both of which i missed! cuz i was busy with the MM shirts and forgot about that. then after that i went to take food with gina! i know i missed out on the delicious sausage rolls and the brownies! then i have no idea what i did, but i knew i had a great time. uh roughly i went to find percy, to find coach joy to ask her for this t-shirt company's number, then i went to the publicity box. oh btw, when gina and i were away for a while, someone took our chicken drumstick and a few sandwiches. i find that soooo hilarious. first time this kinda thing happen. okay and i knew the before i left, i was distributing stuff that we would otherwise have thrown away, but i know ppl would want it. the old dare server's tags were in popular demand. haha! ok then i left, and then i walked with anjo, lydia, coach mel, junxian and joshua to the door of millenia then i walked back to my bus stop! i didnt join huper for dinner :/ and on the bus stop i met elaine and gillian lim. yay timely arrival mans, cuz then, our bus came and we went home together!
i 101% agree with pastor dan on the whole ministry growing. not just physically growing, but spiritually growing. you know after camp, i really see the dare ministry going to a higher level. i see it arising, and i see youths stepping up, whether MM or not. MM is just a title. and all of us in dare are great mighty men and women of God.
you know i'm so glad that this particular dare, that i served, and i received. its really important to be a Mary. Martha was busy serving Jesus, but Mary was sitting and receiving. you know sometimes, i would get really caught up with serving. and during preaching time, i would think. ok. after dare this this this has to be done. and even during leadership training i would think, okay afterwards got this this this to do. the lord knows that i do get distracted, but he dosent condemn me. but this time, i really made sure that i listened during sermon, and i did, and i was blessed! taking notes helps me to concentrate. seriously. i want to be Mary, and to serve out of the overflow. not to be a Martha, rushing about. Jesus help me be like a Mary, to sit at your feet and listen.
special thanks to my beloved daregroup. thanks to bryan for bringing the christmas tree that impressed the judges! haha when he first said he wanted to bring the tree on tues MM outing, i thought he was kidding. when i told coach mel about it, then she was like, 'wah. so xiong ah.' haha actually cuz his christmas tree can dismantle one. so its not one big tree bring inside 6th floor. thanks to angus, belle, zenda and william for doing the decorations! thanks so much to joshua wong for doing the pinata and cutting out the words all by himself! thanks to christon for bringing the wonderful snowspaint. that contributed to the christmassy mood, and that we had fun spraying each other with. and a big thanks to everyone for the wonderful teamwork and help that you have contributed! i am so so proud of you guys! and i'm also proud of everyone in dare, for taking the time to really decorate the 6th floor until so prety pretty!
